| Michael’s interest in economics has left an apparently
indelible impression on his lifestyle. Michael loves to spend
his time as productively as possible. Whether he is reading
sociological analyses of American behavior and culture, perusing
the news to keep apprised of current issues or to analyze
media bias, or exercising, Michael loves to spend his time
expanding his understanding of the world and working towards
personal goals. Although Michael comes from a comfortable,
middle-class home, his parents, people who grew up in near
poverty, have instilled in him a concern for the welfare of
poor and underrepresented people. For Michael, the Quest experience
has allowed him to reflect on his goal in college and has
allowed him to reevaluate his interests. As a result of this
upbringing, Michael hopes to help people by working on economic
policy, broadcasting policy, or for a public interest group
such as the ACLU.
