| Liqian is an idealistic visionary who believes in fate
and in unconditional love. He constantly tries to achieve
balance within himself, meanwhile creating a soothing atmosphere
for those around him. A perceptive, creative, and romantic
young pianist, Liqian's music provides a window into his passionate
heart. He is a natural leader who listens and communicates
with sensitivity and conscientiousness. A Quest participant
at Stanford in 2001, Liqian is a rising junior at Harvard,
joint-concentrating in Economics and East Asian Studies. He
has deepened his love for music-making through singing with
the Collegium Musicum, Harvard’s premier mixed choir. He is
also a director of the Harvard in Asia Project, a student-initiated
organization that creates opportunities for students of all
backgrounds to experience Asian societies and cultures. On
weekends during the school year, one might see Liqian tutoring
ESL to international students, lifting weights, spontaneously
deciding to explore Boston, and spending quality time with
people he cares about. Eventually, he hopes to combine his
interests in law, education, and public service to touch people’s
lives.
