Karine Gibbs
Quest Staff Member 2000

School: Harvard

Karine was born in Jamaica, West Indies, but her family migrated and settled in Baltimore, Maryland in 1980. Since then, though living in Baltimore, she has spent many summers back in Jamaica with her grandparents. This past June, Karine graduated from Harvard with a degree in Biochemical Sciences. She aspires to be a professor, and so in the pursuit of this dream, she has decided to attend Stanford this fall. While at Stanford, Karine will be pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Microbiology and Immunology. Aside from science, Karine likes to read, dance, and play sports, especially lacrosse and field hockey. She also loves watching small children and puppies play, and she gains inspiration from watching sunsets on summer evenings. Karine is really excited about Quest, because it will be a great opportunity to help others while also learning from them. In other words, she will be both teacher and student.
