Jina Hyun
Quest Staff Member 2003
Quest Participant 2001

Hometown: Oakton, VA School: Stanford Major: Chemistry, Sociology

Of both Korean and Hispanic descent, Jina has spent much of her life gradually growing in understanding of her heritage, culture, and family history. Jina will be a sophomore at Stanford University, where she is considering majors in Chemistry or Sociology. At Stanford, Jina works for Quest as a year-time staff member, participates as an oversight committee member of the ASSU (Associated Students of Stanford University) Arts Grant board, and is interested in practicing Korean drums and ballroom dancing. She unequivocally admires her mother for her devotion to both her husband and family. To donate her hair to a non-profit organization that makes wigs for cancer patients, Jina is growing her hair out and may repeat this donation throughout her life. Her parents' fights against cancer have given Jina a deep desire to help combat the disease as an oncologist.
