Liz Schwartz has worked for Quest since 1995 when she was
a sophomore at Stanford. She has served in many roles at Quest
over the years, among them as a counselor and associate director
of Quest's summer program, coordinator of the college application
preparation program, and coordinator and developer of Quest's
college skills curriculum. Liz now works with the Quest Volunteer
Organization, coordinating the mentorship and essay editing
programs, and works in admissions, finalist selection, recruitment,
and teacher relations with QuestBridge.
Graduating from Stanford in 1997 with a degree in Spanish,
she then went on to earn a masters degree in Spanish at the
University of Texas at Austin. She teaches Spanish at the
college and high school levels. Liz finds the study of Spanish
and Spanish-speaking world to be a gateway to the development
of many related skills: increasing one's understanding of
the world and some of its great cultures, developing facility
with language in general, and of course, the practical skill
of speaking Spanish in California.
Born in San Mateo, California, Liz has spent most of her
life in the Bay Area, having also lived in Chile and Mexico.
Liz is extremely dedicated to helping young people succeed
in college.
